Information requested
The descendant registration form may request names, family branch, lineage, ancestral village, current location, relatives and elders, contact details, historical contributions, communication preferences and consent.
Purpose
Registration information is intended only for family connection, heritage research, archive development and related communication. Personal details should not be published without additional permission from the person concerned.
Choice and accuracy
Registration is voluntary. Contributors should share only information they are comfortable recording and should avoid submitting sensitive information about another living person without that person’s knowledge. Contributors may ask the Foundation to correct or remove information they supplied.
Retention and protection
Personal information should be kept only for as long as it remains necessary for the stated heritage and communication purposes. Access should be limited to authorised archive custodians and service providers needed to operate the registration system.
Public archive material
Historical manuscripts, published extracts and already-public heritage records are presented separately from private descendant registrations. A person’s registration does not by itself authorise publication of their family details or contribution.
